One Mom—One Million Lives

Idaho is facing a mental health crisis. We’re investing in moms—the most powerful prevention strategy—to help 1,000,000 Idahoans feel good again.

THE CHALLENGE WE’RE FACING

Idaho is in a mental health crisis. Suicide rates are among the nation’s highest (CDC, 2023), youth face alarming levels of distress (Idaho YRBS, 2021), and 40% of adults struggle with anxiety or depression while one in four cannot access care (NAMI, 2023–2024). The result: lives lost, families strained, and communities pushed to the edge.

The solution is moms. Nearly three‑quarters of Idaho moms say motherhood is central to their identity, yet 38% feel burned out, 44% say their communities don’t support them, and 54% report daily stress (Built With Care, Gallup 2024). And still, 84% report daily happiness and 88% gratitude—proof of resilience ready to grow.

Core Idea: Investing in moms is the best, wisest, and most common-sense prevention strategy for Idaho.

INTRODUCING THE ONE-TO-ONE MILLION PROJECT

The One-to-One Million Project is a bold statewide movement to tackle Idaho’s mental health crisis by investing in moms as the most powerful prevention strategy. Our goal is to reach 1,000,000 Idahoans by 2027 through a simple but transformative approach: equip moms with the tools, time, and support they need to strengthen families, build community resilience, and restore joy. By combining proven cohort models, wellbeing coaching, daily ME‑Time practices, and free statewide access to the POTATO movie, we are turning the resilience of moms into a force for positive change.

WHAT THIS PROJECT DELIVERS

For $10 per Idahoan, we will:

  • 100 Mom Fellows: 9‑month cohorts with stipends, training, and mentorship—creating leaders who launch measurable community wellbeing projects.

  • 1,000 Wellbeing Coaches: Moms trained to bring stress management and resilience tools into homes, schools, and workplaces.

  • 100,000 Moms with ME‑Time: Free tools and resources to build 30 minutes of daily self‑care—reducing burnout and improving family life.

  • 1,000,000 Idahoans Reached: POTATO Movie distributed free statewide as a catalyst for screenings, circles, and conversations that restore joy and belonging.
