Idaho Mom Wellbeing —
Why It Matters to All of Us

Mothers shape family life and community life.

In Idaho, nearly every resident agrees: moms are a core part of what makes families strong and neighborhoods connected.

As our state grows and changes, investing in moms isn’t just kindness—it’s practical. When mothers feel grounded and supported, their families experience more days of calm, connection, and joy. And that ripples out into the wider community.

What the Data Tells Us

We partnered with Gallup to release the pioneering report, Built With Care: Unifying Communities Through Motherhood. We surveyed more than 4,000 Idaho residents (including 1,753 moms) on the roles, experiences and needs of mothers in their communities. The research shows that while the vast majority of Idahoans view mothers as essential to families and communities, many mothers (38%) say they feel tired or burned out, and nearly half do not feel comfortable asking for more help or support.

74%

of mothers in Idaho support the phrase: “being a mother is the most important part of who I am as a person.”

3 out of 4

mothers say they are unable to make time to take care of their emotional well-being.

81%

of mothers who wish they had more help/support in their daily lives do not feel comfortable asking for it.

99%

of Idahoans say mothers are important for creating a positive family environment.

These numbers don’t just show personal experience—they show that moms often go without the time and space they need, even while they continue to care for others.
